Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of MADI (Meta Analysis Data Interface), operated by Fernlume Labs LLC, a tool that helps card, comic, and collectible shops scan items, estimate grades and prices, list items to their sales channels, and price customer collections for buy offers. By creating an account or using MADI, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use MADI.

Your account & shop

• You must provide accurate information and keep your login credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account.
• MADI is organized around shops. A shop owner controls membership and may invite or remove employees; each shop’s data is kept separate and private to its members.
• You must be authorized to act for the shop you create or join, and be old enough to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction.

Acceptable use

• Use MADI only to scan and list items you have the right to sell, and only in compliance with the law.
• Do not upload content that is illegal, infringing, or that you are not permitted to share; do not attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the service.
• You are responsible for following the policies of any channel you connect (such as eBay and Shopify), including their listing, prohibited-item, and fee rules.

Estimates are not guarantees

MADI uses AI and market data to estimate an item’s identity, condition grade, and price. These are automated estimates from photos and third-party data, not certified grades, appraisals, or financial advice, and they may be wrong. A grade estimated by MADI is not a grade from CGC, PSA, or any grading company, and a suggested price is not a promise of sale value. You are solely responsible for reviewing every listing, grade, price, and buy offer before you rely on it or publish it.

Plans, billing & credits

• Paid plans are billed in advance on a recurring basis (monthly or annually) through our payment processor, Stripe. Each plan includes a monthly scan allowance; scans beyond it draw on prepaid credit packs. Connecting your own AI provider key is no longer offered - every scan runs on ours, which is what the allowance and the packs pay for.
• Free trial. New shops start on a free trial with a maximum number of scans. No payment method is required to sign up, and nothing is charged automatically when the trial ends: scanning simply stops until you choose a plan. If that changes we will say so here before it does.
• Credit packs are one-time purchases that do not expire while your account is active. Except where required by law, payments and credit-pack purchases are non-refundable, and unused allowance or credits are not redeemable for cash.
• Automatic refill is off unless you switch it on. When it is on, and your remaining scans fall to the number you choose, we buy the pack you chose on the card you have on file and apply a discount for doing so. It is capped: you set how many refills are allowed in any 30-day period, and we will not exceed it. You can turn it off at any time in Settings.
• You can cancel at any time from Settings; cancellation stops future renewals and takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We may change prices or plan features with reasonable advance notice.

Your content & connected accounts

You keep ownership of the photos and listing data you put into MADI. You grant MADI a limited license to process that content solely to provide the service - for example, to analyze photos, generate listings, and publish to the channels you choose. If you connect eBay or Shopify, you authorize MADI to act on your behalf with those services using the credentials you provide, which are stored encrypted. How we handle your data is described in our Privacy Policy.

The demo

The demo creates a temporary anonymous account and a sandbox shop of sample items so you can try MADI without signing up. Scans in the demo return a prepared sample result rather than reading your photo, and nothing in a demo is ever published to a real sales channel. The sandbox is deleted automatically after about three days. It is a preview of the product, not a service you can rely on, and it may change or be withdrawn at any time.

Service availability

MADI is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We work to keep the service running but do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that estimates will be accurate. Features may change, and third-party services we rely on may change or become unavailable.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, MADI and its operator are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for lost profits, lost sales, mispriced or misgraded items, or losses arising from your use of estimates or from any connected channel. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for MADI in the three months before the claim.

Termination

You may stop using MADI and close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or use the service in a way that risks harm to MADI, other users, or third parties. On termination, your right to use the service ends; certain data is deleted automatically as described in the Privacy Policy.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Continuing to use MADI after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
